Our philosophy

With the support of instructors from all over Europe, the North German Clarinet Days Association presents a multifaceted program of courses, workshops, and presentations during the festival. International soloists such as Wenzel Fuchs (Berlin Philharmonic) , Spyros Mourikis (Greece) , and Nicholas Baldeyrou (France) have been featured, as well as distinguished musicians from German orchestras, including Regine Müller (principal clarinetist of the Robert Schumann Philharmonic Chemnitz) and Jan Doormann (principal clarinetist of the Staatskapelle Weimar) .
With their expertise and personal insights into the world of orchestras, they enrich the festival program and provide valuable inspiration for all participants.
A special focus is placed on the development of top-level musicians: Students and aspiring professionals are given the opportunity to prepare specifically for entrance exams, auditions, or competitions and to gather new artistic inspiration through orchestral studies and masterclasses. The rotating masterclasses bring internationally renowned figures to Bremen each year.
But even curious beginners and those new to the instrument aren't left out: Courses like "Getting to Know the Saxophone" offer the opportunity to gain initial experience and discover new musical worlds. Through individual lessons with highly qualified instructors who possess many years of teaching and concert experience, each participant is met at their current musical level.
The North German Clarinet Days consciously see themselves as a festival for everyone . Alongside top-level professional development, broad-based support is a central focus. Therefore, the invitation is expressly extended to all clarinet and saxophone enthusiasts – regardless of age or musical level. Thanks to a flexible booking system, all participants can put together their own personal course package, tailored to individual interests and financial means.
